Sustainable Development Goal 10 (SDG 10)—Reduced Inequalities—aims to reduce inequality within and among countries. Income inequality continues to widen, while social, economic, and political exclusion persist across demographics (United Nations, 2022).

Systemic Exclusion

Marginalised communities—including migrants, ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, and the LGBTQ+ community—face compounded barriers to health, education, employment, and political representation (UN DESA, 2024). These inequalities were further exposed and deepened by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Global Dimensions

The goal also calls for fairer global financial systems, migration policies, and trade practices. Reducing inequality enhances social stability and is critical to building resilient, peaceful societies.
